Our First Birthday!

Monday, July 12th, this morning, Meagan had books in crib, she knows she can now reach the bookshelf to get books now. Both girls danced to Cold Play music, which I loved. They like Cold Play just like their Momma. Meagan is starting to throw little fits now when either Natalie is playing with the walker toy or she wants her bottle and I try to give her something else. Natalie loves playing with her birthday balloon, she grabs the string and crawls everywhere around the house with it. Daddy got to play with girls tonight while I went to my twins meeting. I also went to the grocery store afterwards to buy their birthday cake ingredients.
Tuesday, we played together and also went to Jacque's Store and Target to buy a present for Logan. We had a good time looking at all the toys. Came home and ate lunch. When they got up from their nap, they played really well together. When Daddy came home later, we had fun playing with the girls on the floor. Got them ready for bed! It was their last day to be younger than one.

Wednesday, Happy 1st Birthday Natalie and Meagan!!!! They played great together this morning! I even got to write thank you notes this morning while they played. Meagan walked to me this morning for the first time. After lunch we went to Grandma's house and I tried to put them down for a nap, while I made their watermelon cake, but they didn't sleep. So after I made their cake, got them out of their bed and they played for a little while and then I put them down for nap again and they slept this time. Grandma came home and then the girls woke up. They had a great time playing ball with Grandma and then we changed their clothes and took some pictures of them outside. Daddy showed up then, so we took some family pictures to which was hard for two babies to smile at the same time. Grandma made dinner for us. We all ate together and they ate the grown up food. We had salmon croquet, corn bread, lima beans, pears and macaroni. We sang Happy Birthday and then they had some of the cake that I made. They got pretty messy, so we bathed them in the big sink and got their pj's on. Meagan walked from Daddy to me and then back to Daddy over and over again. So she has taken her first steps for sure. Nataliewanted a turn, so we helped her walk from Daddy to myself. She would stop and would stand all by herself. Both girls had firsts on their 1st Birthdays. Both girls were so proud of themselves. We headed home and gave them their bottles and but them to bed! Such a great 1st Birthday!!
Thursday, I took the girls to a playdate at Marcy's house in the morning and stayed for a little bit and played. Left early to go home to get Daddy, so we could go to the girls one year doctor appointment. They had to get their shots and the doctor was happy to see that they were doing so well. They cried when they got their shots, but they did really well. Meagan weighed 22lbs. and Natalie weighed 20.8lbs. I came home with the girls and we stayed home the rest of the day and played. Later on, after Daddy got some time with them, he put them to bed while I got us some dinner at Potato Shack. After I got home, Natalie wanted to be rocked, so I rocked her for a little bit and then put her to bed.
Friday, we played at home all day. They ate graduate food for lunch and did really well. They took a great nap. I had fun playing chase with them after their nap. Grandma came over in the afternoon and helped me bath both of them. While she was there, Natalie got the toy cell phone and put it up to her ear and said 'haha'. It was so cute!! Earlier when I gave Natalie her bottle, Meagan looked at it and said 'baba'. They are growing are getting so smart. Grandma wanted to watch one girl at a time, so she took Natalie to her house and Natalie had a great time with Grandma going to the grocery store, going over to visit Ann and playing with Percy and Penny. While Natalie was doing that, Meagan and I played and Daddy came home and we took her to eat at Dickey's BBQ and went to Academy. It was a lot easier with one baby, but oh did we miss Natalie!!! The girls are also now getting 1/2 formula and 1/2 whole milk now in their bottles.

Saturday, got packed and got Meagan ready to go and headed over to Grandma's and we picked up Natalie and drove to Galveston. Once we got into town, we stopped at a gas station and bought some milk and fed them lunch. Then we went over to Trisha's and Scott's house for Logan's 2nd birthday party. Talked with Trisha's family and everyone and Kristin and Brian got to meet them for the first time. The girls got to swim in a kiddie pool. They had fun. It was good to see everyone. Said goodbye and then headed to our hotel by Mall of the Mainland. We relaxed a little and then walked the mall and then went back to Galveston and drove on Broadway and we ate at Casey's on the Seawall. It was so good. The girls ate dinner with us. We walked across the street after we were done eating and put the girls feet in the sand and the beach. They liked it and like the texture of the sand. It was their first time in the water of the beach. We then came back to the hotel and put them to bed after a much needed bath.

Sunday, got up with the girls and got some breakfast for them. We packed up and headed over to Melissa's house to meet her new baby, Zach and for the girls to play with Avril. She also made us breakfast, yum. Lisa and Mike also came over, Mike hadn't met the girls yet, neither had Oscar. We had fun visiting! We headed back to Grandma's and she babysat the girls while Daddy volunteered at a Gun Show and I came home and started packing and straightening. Daddy brought the girls home and we played some and we put them to bed after a long day. We had a great week!! :)
