Headed to Hawaii!!!!!

Thursday, June 5th, I got up early and I went to the dentist.  Daddy took care of the girls while I was there.  When I got home, I got the girls dressed and then we had Michelle, Haley, Hampton, Joanna, Haven and Harrison over to play.  Daddy was still here when they got here, but he then left for work.  Everyone ate their lunch over here and we had a good time visiting and the kids playing together.  They all headed out and then the rest of the day, the girls and I just hung out at the house and played.
Friday, today wasn't too exciting, we just stayed at home and I packed for Hawaii and did laundry.  It was a good day though, we were all looking forward to our trip.  This evening, LaLa came over to visit us and the girls and I went to eat dinner with her at Grub Burger.  It was fun for our outing today.  We came home and we brought Daddy some food back.  LaLa headed out and she was going to stop by again in the morning.  Daddy and I packed all evening.
Saturday, we got up and packed some more.  LaLa stopped by to tell us goodbye before our trip.  Then I took Meagan to Haley and Hampton's 3rd Birthday Party and Daddy took Natalie to Kolton's 3rd Birthday Party.  They were both water parties.  We all had a blast at both parties!  We met Michelle and Jay's family and they were all really nice.  After doing all the party things, we had to head home, so we could load up the truck and head to Austin.  We made it to the hotel and met up with Oma and Opa.  We were all going to stay in the same room tonight.  We all left and met up with Tara and Jason in Cedar Park because they wanted to show us the lot they were interested in buying to build a house.  It was a nice area!!  So happy for them!!  Then we drove to a nearby Double Dave's and we all ate dinner together.  Good times!  Then we got to the hotel and we got ready for bed.  Have a lot of traveling to get through tomorrow!!

Sunday, we got up super early in the morning, like around 3am to head to the airport.  Oma and Opa just rode with us.  We parked at the Parking Spot and then we rode a shuttle to the airport.  We all got inside and settled and then Tara and Jason met us there.  Our flight headed out at 6am to the L.A. airport.  We had about a two and a half hours to spend there for our next flight.  We all just hung out and waited and did a little walking around.  Then it was time for us to board our flight to Oahu, Hawaii.  It was about a six hour flight.  Meagan sat by Oma and Opa and then Natalie sat by Mommy and Daddy.  The girls did really good!!  We landed in Oahu around 1pm Hawaii time, there is a five hour difference from Texas, so in Texas it was 6pm.  What a long day for us, 12 hours of traveling, but so worth it!!  When we got off the plane, we were greeted by a lady from Hawaii with real flower leis.  That was neat!!  Then we went to find our luggage and a guy helped us with that and took us to our shuttle.  We all rode the shuttle to our hotel, the Hilton Hawaiian Village at Waikiki Beach.  Once we were checked into our hotel, we all went up to our rooms and got settled and we all changed into our swimsuits.  We had a great view of the Pacific Ocean!!  All of our rooms were really close together.  We all met at the elevator and we walked to a restaurant called 'Tropics'.  While the rest were getting seated, Daddy and I took the girls to walk by the beach and then we got our towels.  We then we back to Tropics and sat down with everyone and we had a great lunch/dinner.  Hawaii is expensive though, that is for sure!  After our dinner together, we all went to the beach and had a little swim and played in the sand.  Daddy helped the girls make a little sand castle.  We had a great time!!  Someone let us use a float, so Jason and Daddy would push the girls when a wave came on the the float.  They loved it!  While we were there, we saw our first Hawaiian Rainbow and it was right by Diamond Head!!  Beautiful!!  After our fun at the beach, we walked back to our hotel and went swimming at the pool there.  Had fun there to!!  Then everyone was tired from all the traveling today, so we all went back to our hotel rooms.  Opa and I actually went for a walk to find a pharmacy, I needed to get something for Meagan, so had fun seeing more area by our hotel.  When we got back, Daddy had the girls bathed and ready for bed.  Great day!!  We are all so happy to be here!!

Monday, we got up early to get ready for Pearl Habor.  We got some breakfast at the Starbuck's in our hotel and then we walked to where the bus was going to pick us up.  We all got on the bus and then we had to pick up a couple more people at other hotels.  The girls really liked riding on the bus.  We made our way to Pearl Habor and got off the bus.  We made our way inside the gates and we walked around a little bit.  Then we all watched a movie about Pearl Habor and then we walked outside and got to ride a Navy's shuttle boat over to the Arizona Memorial.  We got out there and looked around and saw the list of all the men who had died there.  It was sad!  There was still oil coming up from the sunken ship.  It was a neat experience!!  Then we rode the boat back to where we were before and we looked around some more.  We enjoyed saying 'Aloaha' and 'Mahalo' while we were there.  We learned if you are married you wear a flower behind your left ear and if you are single behind the right ear.  So we found some flowers and we did that!  It was time to get back on the bus and he took us on a ride around Honolulu to see Punchbowl National Memorial Cementery, downtown, including Chinatown, The State Capitol, Governors Home and the Iolani Palace.  We were then dropped off by our hotel and we were all hungry, so we found a local place called Goofy and we ate there.  It was really good!!!  Interesting food, but good!!  Then we all walked around the hotel a little bit and then we all went to our own rooms to rest a little.  Then we met up at the pool with the waterslides to swim and enjoy the slides and have some drinks.  That was a lot of fun!!  Then we all went to our hotel rooms and got dressed and we met in the lobby.  We all walked to CJ's to eat dinner.  After dinner, we shopped for a little bit, Daddy got the girls some stuffed animals and then they each got to pick an oyster to get a pearl and they picked necklaces.  They both got really big pearls (pink).  Oma also picked out an oyster and she got a nice pearl!!  She picked a necklace out for her birthday, since that is the reason we are on this trip!!  We then all went back to our rooms and went to sleep!!  Awesome day!!

Tuesday, we all got up and walked to a nearby restaurant called 'Cheeseburger Waikiki' to eat some breakfast.  I was great food and the service there was really nice!!  We had a great family time!!  Then we walked back to the hotel and we went to our rooms to rest a little.  Then it was time to meet up again and walk to where the shuttle was going to pick us up for the Polynesian Cultural Center.  It took awhile to get there, but we got to see beautiful Hawaii and the North Shore.  Once we were at the center, we all got out and got our tickets.  We walked around a little and the first thing we did was take a canoe ride to the Islands of Hawaii.  The canoe ride was fun!  When we got off, we ate some snacks for lunch and then we walked in the Hawaii area and a nice lady showed us some huts and things inside and we tried some food.  Then we walked to the Islands of Fiji and watched a show there and got to make music with Bamboo Sticks.  Then we walked back to the Island of Hawaii to get a passport stamp in the girls Polynesian kids passport.  Then as we waited for the Long Canoe Pageant to start, we played Hawaiian Bowling.  Then it started to rain, so we took cover.  Then the Pageant started as the rain was stopping.  A lot of hula dancing and the girls really enjoyed watching it!!  Then we walked to the Islands of Tahiti and the girls and all the guys did the spear throwing.  It was cute!!  Then the girls played some instruments and we tried some bread there.  Then the girls fed some fish.  Then we walked to the Islands of Tonga and took cover because it started raining again.  There was a lady there talking about Tapas (they would get this bark and make blankets and all sorts of things from it).  After the rain stopped, we walked to a gift shop and the girls got to make their own bracelets and then we went to watch a show called 'Hawaiian Journey' in an IMAX theater.  Then we went to the gift shop and looked around.  Then we walked to the Islands of Samoa and some of us watched a show while Daddy, Meagan, Natalie, Oma and I went to make a fish with palm leaves.  Then we made our way to the Gateway Restaurant to eat a buffet dinner.  The food was pretty good!!  After we ate, we walked around a little bit and then rode the tram to see BYU and a Jesus Christ Church there.  Beautiful area!!  Then we rode the Tram back to the PCC and we took our seats to watch the evening show called 'Ha: Breath of Life'.  It was pretty interesting, but we were all pretty tired!!  We got to see a fire show!  After the show, it was time to find our shuttle and head back to our hotel.  Our drive said that he went to school with President Obama (they called him 'Barry').  Most of us fell asleep on the way back to the hotel.  Once we got back, we all said goodnight and went to our rooms!!  Girls had fallen asleep to and were carried back and Meagan was not happy at all to be taking a bath!!

Wednesday, we slept in a little bit and Daddy picked us up some breakfast to eat.  Then the girls, Daddy and I walked down to the Lagoon to swim in it.  It was cold water, but felt really good!!  We swam in that for a little bit and then we rented a paddle boat (first time the girls have ever been on a paddle boat).  That was a lot of fun!  While we were on that, Jason and Tara found us and took our picture.  Once we were off the paddle boat, we found Tara and Jason at the beach and Oma and Opa found us to.  We all hung out at the beach for a little while and played with some floats that Jason rented for the day.  We had a great time at the beach!  Then Oma, the girls and I went to take Hula Dance lessons.  That was fun!!  Then we walked back to everyone else at the beach and we shared some blizzards from DQ.  Then we all walked back to the rooms and we got dressed for dinner tonight.  We all got dressed up nice and ate at a restaurant called 'Fresco'.  It was a nice restaurant and the food was great!!  We had a great last night in Oahu!!  After dinner, we walked around a little bit and then we had to get back to our rooms to repack everything.  We are flying out to Maui, HI tomorrow!!  We had a great time in Oahu, for sure!!!
