Eight Months Old...

Monday, March 8th, both girls can hold their bottles really good now by themselves. I still put a boppy underneath the bottles, but Meagan kicks the boppy away, a way of telling me 'I don't need that.' Natalie holds her own, but still keeps the boppy there. They can both put the bottles back in their mouths it they take them out. This morning, I took the girls by myself to the Health Department and they got their second H1N1 shots. I then drove around neighborhoods with them in the car because they were taking such a great nap. We then went over to Roxanne's house for a twins play date. They love to watch all of the other children. I was telling the other moms how Meagan likes to take toys from Natalie and they all said that there is always a 'Toy Taker.' They love when Daddy gets home, he always plays with them and tosses them up in the air and they just can't get enough. He is so good to them!! This week they are trying new fruit mixes.
Tuesday, when I went into the girls room, their big giraffe was on the floor. Meagan had kicked it down. It definitely made me laugh. Meagan is starting to get her second tooth in. Natalie still doesn't have any, her gums must be tougher than Meagan's. We walked to the park this afternoon and were going to feed the ducks at the pond, but they had no interest, hopefully one day they will! We came home and I swung them in their swings outside. After they ate their dinner tonight, I gave the girls graham crackers for the first time and apple juice with water for the first time to. Meagan ate the cracker a little better and drank the juice a litter better.
Wednesday, Natalie scooted a little bit towards a toy she wanted. She also likes to give kisses now, like Meagan. She loves to throw her hands up in the air for fun! Meagan starting to reach for other things besides toys, but her interest is still more in the toys. She is getting so much stronger in her arms and legs, but she has always been really strong! I am loving the weather lately, I got to take the girls walking around the neighborhood. When we got home, Natalie played in her little play tunnel and loved looking out of it at me. Today with the graham cracker and juice, Natalie did better.
Thursday, we just played all day like we normally do and then around 5, I took the girls over to Crystal and Steven's house. I wanted to see her new house and she their little baby boy. I left and took the girls to Grandma's house and then went back over to Crystal's. I talked with her family for a little bit. It was good to visit. Then I went back to Grandma's and Terry P. was there (Grandma's cousin). They were playing with the girls and then they gave them a bath. Terry left and then Daddy came over. We got the girls ready for bed and gave them their bottles. We drove back home and put the girls to bed. Good day!
Friday, for lunch I tried to give the girls avocado that I made myself, but they did not like it. It was hilarious! So I fed them their normal veggies. I will have to try it again soon, but put formula with it to make it thinner. I took the girls for a walk again to the park and I put them in the playground swings for the first time. They loved it and had so much fun!! Around 6pm, Oma came to our house and got to visit and play with the girls. Daddy got us food to eat for dinner. He went to meet a friend for dinner and Oma and I put the girls to bed. We just relaxed and watched Dateline.
Saturday, Oma helped me with breakfast this morning. We also had my friend, Jessica, from the twins group come by with her little 7 month old twins to the house. It was the first time we had a twins play date at our house. We had a great time with Jessica's little girls. Daddy and Oma played to! After they headed out, Daddy and I worked in the yard a little. Wonderful day outside! Oma, Daddy, the girls and I walked to the nearby park to play. We saw a set of twins that I knew from my twins group there with their Dad. Seeing lots of twins today. I took Natalie down a slide and Daddy took Meagan down a slide. Then we pushed the girls in the swings and even put them in the same swing (Daddy's idea), it was fun!!!! Came back home to feed them and then Oma, the girls and I went to Target in town and we put the girls in the cart, so they could look around, we pushed to different carts. Natalie loved looking all around and Meagan just wanted to keep moving! :) Came home and Daddy and Oma spent time with the girls while I went to get us dinner from McAlister's Deli. Came home and we all helped to get the girls to bed. Tonight is Spring Forward, so the girls schedules are going to be off a little tomorrow. Their first of many Spring Forwards!
Sunday, Meagan and Natalie's Eighth Month Birthday! I was going to help Oma with breakfast for the girls, but she said I could go back to sleep, so she took care of it. That was really nice, I got to sleep for another hour. Oma got Daddy and I donuts to eat. Daddy left a little later to go to Grandma's to help Uncle Kelly unpack all of his and Aunt Celeste's stuff. While he was gone, Opa came over to the house to see the girls. We had lunch and Oma and Opa swung the girls outside on the swings. Oma even made a cake for the girls (really for us because they can't eat it yet, but it was their eighth month birthday). Oma and Opa had to leave while the girls were taking their naps, it is always good to visit with them! I played with the girls for a little bit and then Daddy came home. We held the girls for a little bit and then Daddy fed them their dinner. We are having a great Sunday, we have to get used to this time change now!

  1. Good Luck with the time change. This one is alot more difficult for everyone and I am sure even more for babies.

So glad to hear the girls are doing well. They are growing so fast.
