Thanksgiving 2012

Thursday, Nov. 22nd, Jason shot a deer this morning, so Opa, Jason and Kenny had to work with that all morning.  We all got dressed and made our part of the food for lunch.  Then the girls and I did a craft and made little Turkeys.  It was fun, but the glue didn't work that well.  We took a couple of pictures and then we loaded up everything and headed to Sandra and Curtis' house for Oma's family Thanksgiving, yum!!  We said hi to everyone and visited and then it was time to eat, yay!!!  The food is soooooo good!!  Meagan and Natalie don't know what they are missing, they didn't eat that much.  We had turkey, dressing, green bean casserole, mashed potatoes, noodles with buttered corn flanks, jello stuff, rolls, etc and of course desserts.  Betty Ann, Bernice, Hans, Farren, Blaine, Kenslyn, Andrea, Micah, Huntleigh, Sandra, Curtis, Shannon, Tina, Easton, Jackson, Vance, Chelsey, Jacob(Jake) and Rihana were all there including my family.  We had a great turn out and had a lot of fun.  After lunch, we got the bounce house out and all the kids played in it for a little while.  They had fun!  Betty Ann and Bernice and her family left after a little while, but the rest of us stayed and visited with Sandra and all of them.  We took some pictures out in their field and then rode with Curtis to watch a mommy cow feed her calves.  Natalie got to sit on Curtis' lap and drive back to the house.  She had a blast.  She was so happy.  Tara and Jason headed out before dinner, but we stayed for dinner, which was good again.  We had tamales and dried deer sausage and German melted cheese on buttered bread.  After we ate dinner, the girls wanted to take a bath there to play with the Three Men in a Tub toy.  We let their hair dry and they played with Easton some more.  The girls and Easton were having fun tackling Daddy to the ground.  We said goodnight, Meagan got sad when Easton had to go to bed and we had to leave, it was sweet.  We left and came home and finished watching the Texas vs. TCU football game with Tara and Jason and then it was bed time.
Friday, was a lazy day for us!!  I spent in a little bit this morning.  Jason went to the bakery and got us some breakfast.  And then we did some laundry and the girls played inside all day, it was a little chilly today.  Daddy went to Wal-Mart for a little bit to get a couple of things and Oma, Tara and I ordered a couple of Christmas presents off the internet, while Opa and Jason were cutting parts of the deer, Daddy went over to help them a little bit.  We watched a couple of Christmas movies on TV and just really enjoyed each others company.  Sandra came over to visit for a little bit and we watched Tara and Jason's wedding video.  Meagan and Natalie did some dances for Sandra to see.  Then Tara and Jason left to go to the Peddler Show and then Sandra headed out and then Daddy and I headed out while the girls stayed with Oma and Opa.  Daddy and I went on Main Street and saw the Christmas lights come on, we didn't know that was happening, or else we would have brought the girls, but it was still nice to see.  Then we ate at Beja's Grill, which was really good.  I had a good Pulled Pork Sandwich, yum and some wine! :)  Then we walked back to the truck and drove to Luckenbach to meet up with Tara and Jason.  We talked and danced a little bit, but mostly watched the other people dance.  It was fun!  Then we headed home and the girls were still awake, so we got to tell them goodnight.

Saturday, I got up earlier to help Oma peel some potatoes for the lunch at Janet's today.  The girls have been sleeping in, they have been tired, plus they have been going to sleep later.  We hung out a little bit and then got ready.  I had to make some dips, so Daddy took the girls outside to play on the swings and then he walked them over to the trailer to see Opa, Jason and Kenny.  He also took them to see their pet fish.  They were all still there.  They rode in Jason's truck on the way back and Natalie asked if she could drive again, so this time she drove Jason's truck.  We loaded everything up and all of us headed to Janet's house for Opa's side of the family's Thanksgiving lunch.  I made cheese dip and my Texas Caviar and we had ham, turkey, Omie's dressing (yum) and pretty much all the same food we had on Thursday, but it was all so yummy again.  Omie, Opie, Janet, Jay, Tyler, Sandra, Dennis, Teresa, Kenny, Sarah, Cindy, Richard, Holly, Mitchell, Brady, Will, Luke, Heather, South, Bridges, Asher and Ema were all there including us and Vergil's parents.  It was a nice Thanksgiving with them, we all got to visit, eat and play some dominoes.  The girls were having so much fun chasing butterflies and catching a couple.  The boys were helping the girls catch the butterflies (Bridges, Will and Luke).  They even played some games and with chalk and connect four.  Of course there was a little football game with the boys and Richard.  We all watched the Aggies play against Missouri and even watched some of the Notre Dame game.  Dennis kept trying to make Natalie and Meagan say hook'em horns, but they just kept saying gig'em aggies!! :)  Good for them!  They even said 'Go Irish'.  We ate some dinner there, which everyone still ate, even though we were all full!  We left at half time for the Aggie game.  We gave everyone hugs and said we would see them all around Christmas time!!  We had such a good time.  When we got to Oma and Opa's road, we put Meagan on my lap, so she could drive for the first time, since Natalie had already gotten to do it twice.  She did pretty good, but she kept looking at the radio.  It made her happy!!  We went inside and finished watching the football games and put the girls to bed with Oma.  Aggies won and Notre Dame won and then everyone said goodnight.
Sunday, we all got up and had some eggs for breakfast together.  Spent some time together and then we loaded up and Tara and Jason left right before us, but we did leave a little before 11 like I wanted to do.  We gave Oma and Opa hugs and told them we had a great week with them.  We drove all the way to Bastop with a little bit of traffic, we got some gas and had a potty break and then we drove a little farther to The Roadhouse and we ate lunch there.  It took awhile, but it was good.  Even got some milk shakes.  Then we drove all the way to LaLa's house and we rested a little bit and Daddy went to work.  LaLa came home after a while and we visited with her and watched the end of The Wizard of Oz.  Daddy came and he helped move a big Christmas tree into her house.  Then we visited for a little bit and then headed home.  Daddy made a little dinner for us and bathed the girls.  We had such a good time this Thanksgiving, love family!!
Monday, Elbert the Elf came to visit us and the girls had to find him this morning.  They were so happy to see him, he really helps Natalie not whine so much because every time she starts to, we remind her that Elbert is watching and he is going to tell Santa.  Both girls love Christmas music, especially Jingle Bells and Santa Clause is Coming to Town.  We relaxed today and did some laundry and I started getting some of the Christmas decorations out.  The girls helped me and loved seeing all the Christmas stuff.  I took them to gymnastics this afternoon and Natalie was scared of the rings today for some reason, she doesn't like swinging upside down I guess.  She is funny!  They had a good time and then we came home and had some dinner that I made.  When Daddy came home, he got the Christmas tree out and we got it ready for the ornaments.  We gave the girls a bath and then we all had a great time putting the ornaments on the tree.  We listened to Christmas music while we did that.  We also hung our Stockings and put our family Christmas Drawings out.  We got our Advent Calendar and Tree out to.  I love all the Christmas Traditions.  With my Nativity Scene, Natalie liked playing with Mary and baby Jesus, so sweet.  Meagan liked the Camel!! :)  We had a great time tonight.  After the girls went to sleep, I ordered some things off the internet and Daddy wrapped a couple of presents and put them under the tree.
Tuesday, the girls found Elbert in my stocking and then they noticed the presents under the tree right away and wanted to open them.  This is going to be hard for them to wait until Christmas!!  Natalie thinks her present is the little Princess Castle, so sweet that she thought about what it was!  I took them to school and then I ran some errands and came home to write a couple of Blogs!  After school, we went to the store and then came home and I made some dinner for Jessica and her family.  The girls and I took the dinner over to her house and I got to hold the new baby, Briella and the girls got to play with Avery and Cameron.  We only stayed for a little bit, so her family could eat.  We came home and I made the same dinner for us to eat.  Daddy came home and spent some time with us and then it was bed time.  It has been so hard to put the girls to sleep lately, especially Natalie.  She says she is scared of monsters, but we think she is just joking, so she can stay up later. :)

Wednesday, we hung out at home in the morning and then around lunch we met up with Alicia and her kids at the park.  We fed the ducks and goose some bread.  Then we let the kids play on the playground and then went for a walk on the trail.  Then all the kids hung out in Alicia's mini van and then we said bye and then went by Sonic to get drinks and then we came home.  We hung out at home and then had an early dinner and then when Daddy got home we took the girls to Awana.  They love going there, they are always so happy to go and so excited when we are leaving because they had such a good time!
